They sequenced the steps and were able to take the recipe home to recreate the recipe at home. In Week Three, Lesson 14 of our Explore the Rainforest unit our topic was Coconuts. Students were given the supplies and directions to make their own treat. ![]() In addition to tasting real coconut, we also made an alphabet tree snack. Some students liked the taste, others did not. These matching cards are the perfect companion for a Chicka. For time’s sake, I poured shredded coconut into one of the halves and gave them some flakes to taste. Before we started I broke open one of the coconuts I had brought into the class. I always pick up a few coconuts from our local grocery store to bring in for investigation. Throughout the day, we worked on various coconut activities that were super engaging! I also found a blow-up palm tree, which made for a fun classroom prop.
